Count your blessings

From time to time we need to take a break from the daily politics.

I am an off the road tire tech. for one of the largest tire companies in the world here in Denver. Today would have been my day off. We were too busy yesterday to get all the road services done, so I went in today to take care of one of those calls.

On my way down to the call, I began to realize how lucky I am to have a good job, that I do not have to worry about losing. We just lost a guy from work, due to in my opinion to his inability to control his drinking, and overall lack of responsibility.

When I see someone like this doing to themselves these types of things, I really wonder what goes on in their minds. On the streets here, there are hundreds of homeless, some of which have no excuse for being such.

I got divorced 3 years ago, got custody of my children, lost our house, live in a hotel, and still have my job. I keep my kids fed, clothed, in school where they are doing well; in fact, one is starting college level classes next year. I do not tell you about my personal life to get you to pity me. I do not want it. I tell you this to show you that we all have the ability to make right and wrong choices. I refuse aid from any gov. agency, have raised 6 children, one of whom is at the Naval Acadamy. One is in Cal. getting ready to hike across the U.S. with his uncle, another is going to be videoing the hike and putting it on the web. Then there is yet another who is starting fulltime college next year. The two youngest are at home; one starting college classes in his senior year and the youngest of all looking forward to joining the Marines in three years after graduation.

No don't feel sorry for me I made the right choices in my life and am blessed for the things I have, the fruits that have been produced in my children, and the life I still have ahead of me.

We can fight for our freedoms, fight against all the things we see or perceive are wrong in Washington as much as we wish, let's not forget what we have right in front of us and in our lives. Semper Fi.

Wisdom from our founders

the germ of dissolution of our federal government . . .
“The germ of dissolution of our federal government is in the constitution of the federal judiciary; an irresponsible body, (for impeachment is scarcely a scare-crow), working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the States, and the government of all be consolidated into one.” –Thomas Jefferson–Thomas Jefferson, letter to Charles Hammond, August 18, 1821

I really do not think I need to add anything to this, except that we are witnessing this very thing today. Semper Fi.

Well here's an example of what I fear we have to look forward to.

Please refer to the included link. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=32035

While looking through my daily emails, I came across this story from Human Events. As I mentioned in a earlier post, I feared that our Gov. for the sake of Political points would start to take aim at our troops.

Well here we go. Army Ranger 1st Lieutenant Michael Behenna is one of our most recent casualties to a corrupt Judicial and Political system. Instead of going to Prison for doing his job, we should be giving this Hero a parade, but no we are sending him to rot in a cell.

This concerns me most because my daughter who has just finished her 3rd year in the Naval Academy, and hopes to become a Marine Officer will be serving under these vary same political opportunist that have, if nothing else destroyed Lt. Bhenna's carrier.

How can our guys over in the War zones ever expect to do their job of defending Iraqis or Afghans, if the first thing they have to worry about is " am I going to be arrested for protecting myself when I get home?" I now think I have some small understanding of how my mother felt watching the treatment of our Vets. coming home from Vietnam. It disgusts me to see where my country, that I served is going.

I prey for Michael, that he will get some form of appeal and the evidence that was not aloud in trial will get his conviction overturned.

That's it for tonight. Semper Fi.

Full circle.

When we declared our independence, we told the King of England we would bow no more. No more unfair taxes, no more mandated religion, no more of his soldiers in our streets.

Fast forward to present day. President Obama is turning back the clock at breakneck speed, he is bowing to terrorist dictators (both politically and physically with that shameful display in Saudi Arabia), Raising taxes on us by going after the CEO's of large companies. Who do you think pays thoughs taxes, it's us the tax gets added into the cost of the products we need on a day to day basis.

They (the Gov./ Obama) are attacking the religious and our troops almost daily. How dare they suggest that our troops coming home from the War Zone are subjects of interest as possible Terrorist threats. They need to keep their eye on the right threats and that is the border to the South. With the Mexico Gov. having the difficulty it is having with their illegal drug cartels and the war which is breaking out along that border, it would be better to give the troops jobs on the border rather than treat them like threats.

Whats next? Obama is taking control of banks, auto manufacturers, reimplemented embryonic stem cell research (murder). It's up to your imagination as to where he might go next.

We must stop this before it gets to big, if it hasn't already. I did not serve this great country in the marines to see it fall to a would be dictator. Wake up. Semper Fi.

Hello America.

Blogging is something new to me, as is a lot of this computer stuff. You and my children would refer to me as a noob. I felt that I needed an outlet other than the guys at work who don't really care for politics, so here I am. If I ramble a bit to much let me know, I am always willing to learn.

That said, I am a retired Marine who served under the very capable leadership of Ronald Reagan, and the 1st. George Bush. My experience serving this great country under these two different Presidents proved to me the value of peace through strength. If we allow ourselves to be weakened by the politicians and do not speak out against these would be dictators, then we deserve every bit of the coming failure in the middle east and of our economy. I do not pretend to have all the answer, but I do know that History does repeat itself. Government time and time again has said they have the answer and all they do is make it worse. Don't take my word for it, just pick any subject that Gov. has their hands in and look at yourself.

I realize this is short, but I hope that as time gos on I will become more proficient at this. Please be my guest and leave your comments, about the subject or how I might improve the look and readability of my Blog. Semper FI.
